Memorial Day Weekend!

We've had such a fun weekend. We spent Friday and Saturday night up the canyon. McClain played with our friends Todd and Cate & Riley and Libby on Friday night. On Saturday she played all day with her cousins. They had fun looking for turkeys and pretending to shoot them with their guns made of sticks. Sunday, we had a BBQ at my parents. Trevor and Kelly were up from St. George and we were excited to see them. We had fun playing with the cousins. We went on four wheeler rides and horse rides. I think McClain had about as much fun as she could handle. I am thankful for fun weekends spent with our families!! Trevor, Grandpa, Braylon and Grandma.

BRIAN REGAN!!

Last night we went to Brian Regan and had a great time. We started the night out by going to Texas Roadhouse. It was our first time there and we loved it. After dinner, we went to Abravenel Hall to see Brian Regan. I gave the tickets to Steven for Christmas, and it was a hard wait! But, it was oh so worth it! We laughed our guts out. Seriously, laughed until we cried! It was a good time! Steven and I.

We had such a wonderful Christmas and New Years. There is nothing better than spending time with family. McClain was spoiled rotten for Christmas, but she had such a fun time. Steven and I also had a great Christmas. We also had fun ringing in the New Year with Riley and Libby. We played Family Feud on the Wii and watched movies and had lots of treats. It was fun. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and I wish you all a very Happy New Year!!

Christmas party and sledding!!

Last Saturday was the annual Jex Family Christmas Party. Santa always come to this party and we were curious to see how McClain would do. Last year, she hated Santa. This year, we worked really hard to get her to like him by telling her that he brings her presents and toys(wrong, I know). It worked though and she couldn't wait for her turn on Santa's lap. This Saturday with all the snow, we decided to take McClain sledding at the golf course in Spanish. McClain had a ball and didn't want to leave. We will for sure be doing this again! We had an awesome Halloween holiday this year. It was fun now that Mac is a little older and she understood a little more. She LOVED cleaning the pumpkins out and loved her Mickey Mouse pumpkin. She also loved hanging out with Steven while I went to Thriller with my friend Krystle. It was awesome this year, very entertaining! Then on Halloween we started very early going to all the places we had to visit. She got to see her cousins, Sophie and Gray, then it was off to Grandma Myrl's where she went trick or treating with her cousins Trayven and Layken. After that, we went to the Robinson's for yummy dinner, and trick or treating with her friend Taylee, and a couple other little friends. We had a fun time! My two favorite people!

McClain's birthday was last week and she turned the big "2"! We celebrated by taking her to Jumpin' Jacks. We've never been there before and we had a ball. McClain was running as fast as she could from slide to slide and wanted to do everything by herself. Even Steven and I had a good time. Then, we went to the park to have cake and ice cream with family and friends. She had fun playing with her cousins and friends and she was incredibly spoiled! After her party we fed the ducks. There were tons of them, and they were not shy. I thought for sure someone was going to get a finger bitten off. We had such a good time and want to thank our wonderful family and friends for making her day so special. We love you all!!

Recently, we took McClain to the county fair. She had fun playing with Taylee and going on rides. We've also been camping. Mac was in heaven!! She loved playing in the dirt all day and sleeping in the trailer. It was right up her alley. We've been trying to fit in all we can before summer ends!

New York, New York!!

Last weekend my friend Shay and I went to New York. It was awesome. We went out there to see the Yankee/Red Sox game. Shay landed some great seats, 15 rows behind the 1st base line. She is a major Yanks fan, and it was her dream come true!! While we were there, we went to see Wicked. That was amazing!! I loved it. We also spent a lot of time shopping on Canal Street and shopping in Times Square. They have an M&M Factory and a Hershey Store that smells divine. We took a bus tour around the City and that was fun. You get to see a lot more that way. We went to Ground Zero, which was cool, but I was a litte disappointed, as it was under construction. We went to a church directly across the street. It's called St. Paul's and it served as an emergency room/headquarters for the volunteers searching for victims of 9/11. It has a cool little back story. Every window in every building within 2 blocks of the WTC was shattered when the towers collapsed, except the windows in St. Paul's Church, and not one of those windows broke. Pretty amazing. We had so much fun and I would LOVE to go back. That was my first time flying and I really liked it. I just may become a world traveler. Yeah right. But, it was such a blast. Thanks to Shay for taking me on her dream vacation, and thanks to Steven for taking care of Mac and holding down our fort. I couldn't wait to see my family!! Sadly though, Mac was more excited to see the teddy bear from the M&M Factory than she was to see me. True story.

10K and Fishing!!

This weekend I did my first 10K. My mom asked if I would do it with her about 2 months ago. It was the 10K at 10K in Fairview canyon. It was really fun and very rewarding. We only walked, and we were far from winning, but it was such a beautiful view up there and it felt good to complete it. Maybe one day I will run one. While we were walking, Steven and my dad took McClain fishing at Huntington Reservoir and wait for the race to end. They didn't catch anything, but I think we all had a pretty fun day! Fiesta Days!!

This week was Fiesta Days in Spanish Fork and we had a ball! We started out at the Rodeo on Wednesday, just Steven and I. Then, on Thursday we went to the rodeo with his family. McClain loved it. She clapped along and danced to the music and loved seeing the horses. The next day was the parade, she also loved dancing to the music there. We took her to the carnival for a while. She and Steven went down the big slide and she laughed the whole way down. That night was the fireworks. She didn't like them, so her and I stayed inside and had a rootbeer float. On Saturday, we went back down the carnival and let her ride the big slide again. The guy there got such a kick out of her that he let her go down about 4 more times without tickets. Then, she rode the boats and the Merry-go-Round with her friend Taylee. Later that night we had tickets that Steven's dad had given us, so we went back to the rodeo. She didn't like it so much this time. They were really close to the chutes and I think it was just a little too much and she had already has a long day. So, Mac and I spent most the rodeo watching from under the bleachers!! It was fun though, and we're sad to see Fiesta Days go, but they'll be back next year and we'll be ready!!

Grandma's Party and the 4th of July!!

Recently we had a birthday party for my grandma who turned 80. We ate at the Maddox Lodge in Brigham City. It was fun to have everybody get together in honor of my grandma. I think she had fun seeing most of her family gathered together. It's been far too long. And, then for the 4th, we spent the day in Goshen at my parents house. My brother was up from St. George with his cute little family and my sister came with her family. The kids had fun running through the sprinklers and lighting sparklers. After dinner, we roasted marshmellows in my parents fire pit.

This week we went up the canyon, where Steven's grandparents were camping. There, McClain had her first s'more. She loved it. We also had hot dogs and hamburgers. It was delicious, and we've all come to the conclusion everything tastes better in the canyon. Steven and Mac at the top of the hill she had to climb.

This weekend we went to the KOA in Richfield for "camping". I know techincally it's not camping, but it's my favorite trip of the year. We go down with some of Steven's family. We were hoping the weather would hold out for us, and it did for the most part. It rained for about 2 hours total, and while it rained we went bowling and out to Wingers. We played in the pool for a little bit on Saturday afternoon, but then it started to get a little chilly. McClain had a ball playing with her cousins Trayven and Layken. We had a good time and I can't wait to do it again next year!! McClain playing with Trayven's ball and mitt.

Today Steven went to a golf tournament for work. Afterwards, they had a luncheon where they raffled off prizes. He had already won a hat and a shirt, so he thought maybe he was done winning. After they had given away all the small prizes, they had 2 grand prizes to give away. One was a 2 night trip to Midway and the other was a 3 day/2 night trip to San Diego. Well, Steven, being the lucky guy that he is won the trip to San Diego, with tickets to Sea World and everything. I am SO excited. We have a year to use them, so we'll be going sometime in the near future!! We are way stoked, it will be a blast!!

Dane Cook!!!

Yesterday was Steven and mines 5 years anniversary. So, to celebrate we went to Dane Cook. We are huge fans of his. We started the night out by going to Red Robin. That was the first time we have ever left McClain to go to dinner. It was kind of nice. I forgot how to sit down and eat. Then, we headed up to the E-Center. We had such a blast!! He had a couple of opening acts. One was alright, the other guy was hilarious. I had cried all my make-up off before Dane Cook even came out. Then, when he did, it was AWESOME! He is so funny and he put on a killer show. I have never laughed so hard. We had a blast. If he ever comes back, we are for sure going! Thanks, Hon! I had a blast and I love you!! Not bad seats!

Saturday we went to Steven's dad's to see the baby horses. McClain absolutetly loved them. She was climbing the fence to try to get into the pen. She got in and petted the horse and she even sat on one. Then, she got up on Grandpa's boat and laid right down like she was sun tanning. I had to throw in this picture of McClain and her friend Taylee. She is such a pill! We had gone gone to dinner with The Robinson's and they were sitting on the porch, I took a picture and she stuck her tongue out at me!

Can you say spoiled? Today we went to get trees to plant in our backyard. First, we went to Walmart to see if they had anything. No trees, but somehow we came out of there with a "bike" for McClain. All I can say is she sure knows how to work her daddy. She loves her "cycle" though, and hopefully it will teach her how to ride a bike. We did end up finding trees at Home Depot.

This weekend we went to the zoo. It was such a beautiful day, and the animals were pretty fun to watch. McClain always love the giraffes. And, she loved to watch the kitty (cougar). Also, last weekend Steven started some landscaping in our yard and after we got back from the zoo, he finished it. I think he did a pretty good job.

This weekend was so much fun with Easter. On Saturday morning, we went to Goshen for the Easter egg hunt. It was freezing cold and raining, but their weren't too many people there, so McClain got her fair share. After the Easter Egg hunt, my mom had an another egg hunt for McClain at her house. Then on Sunday we woke up to see what the Easter Bunny brought for McClain. It looked a little like Christmas. She is spoiled. Then we went to Uncle Darren's for dinner and an Easter Egg hunt. Then off to Grandma Kathy's for yet another egg hunt. She had fun and needless to say she is now an expert in the field of Easter egg hunts. I hope everyone had a good Easter!!

Last year McClain hated the 4-wheeler and it really disapointed Steven. Then, she received a Tinkerbell 4-wheeler for Christmas. This year she loves the 4-wheeler. On the first warm Saturday of the year, we broke out the 4-wheeler and she didn't want to get off. Steven took her for a couple rides around the block, then she refused to get off, I took her for a couple rides. She's made her daddy a very happy man!

St. George!

This weekend we went to St. George for my nephew Braylon's baby blessing. We had lots of fun. McClain was a little under the weather, but for the most part she did really good!(Thanks to Elmo and a portable DVD player!) We got down there on Friday and went to dinner with the whole family on Friday night. Then, on Saturday, we woke up and drove to Mesquite to shoot sporting clays. We went back to the hotel, which was in walking distance of the factory stores and did a little shopping. On Sunday they blessed little Braylon and then we had a nice lunch. We took some family pictures on Sunday, which I will try to post later. We had a good trip. It's always nice to have a fun little get-a-way!!

Hardware Ranch!!

This weekend we FINALLY made it to the Hardware Ranch. We went with our friends, The Robinson's. We started up on Saturday morning. The girls fell asleep in the truck and took a good nap on the way to Logan. We checked into the hotel, ate lunch and then went to the ranch. My uncle manages the ranch, so when got there he brought down a sleigh drawn by horses, and we got our own little personal ride. It was so fun to see the elk so close. Their were some good bulls in the herd. Mac wanted to get out and ride one. After our ride, we stayed and visited with my family and had hot choclate. Then we went back into Logan and had dinner at the Olive Garden. (My fav!) We went swimming when we got back and then put the girls to bed and watched a movie. The girls did really good, better than I had expected anyways, and we had tons of fun!! It really should be an annual trip! Steven and the girls watching cartoons.

This weekend we were supposed to go the Hardware Ranch up by Logan to go on the sleigh ride and see the elk with some friends. But, my uncle (who manages it) called me on Friday and said they had to close the ranch due to ice. So, instead we went to the Lehi Legacy Center. It was so fun! McClain was born to swim. She loved the water and she had no fear of it. She got so mad if we took her out. She played until she dropped. Her friend Taylee took a minute to warm up to the water, but she eventually started to have fun. We will be doing that again soon! If you've never been, I highly recommend it. Hopefully, in the next couple weekends we'll be able to make our trip to Logan. She loved the life jacket, so she could do it by "herself."

I'm not quite sure what to do with this girl. She's absolutely fearless. She got a new 4-wheeler for Christmas and instead of riding it, she thinks it's a jungle gym. She started out sitting on it, then standing up and slowly letting go of the handle bars until she was standing on the seat with no hands, and then she rocks it back and forth. She conquered that pretty quick and that wasn't enough. Now, she stands on the front fenders and climbs over the handle bars, until she is standing up. All this and she hasn't even started riding the thing. I can only imagine what she'll be doing when she gets going on it. She'll probably master standing on the seat and steering. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas. We sure did! McClain had such a ball opening presents (her's and everyone else's). We went to Grandma Myrl's for Christmas Eve for her annual pajama party. That was fun, but kind of crazy! Then on Christmas, we had so many place's to go. McClain was so worn out, but she had fun with all her grandma's and grandpa's. And, needless to say she was spoiled. We had a wonderful Christmas. Thanks everyone, We love you!!

This weekend we went over to the mall to see Santa Claus. We went with The Robinson's and they took their little girl, Taylee. We thought maybe if Taylee went first, then maybe McClain wouldn't cry. That didn't work. Taylee started screaming and then it was McClain's turn and she started screaming. Long story short, we got pictures, but they were both screaming in them. Then we took the girls to the playground to let them re-cooperate. We capped it off with a trip to the Festival of Lights. The girls loved it! McClain kept saying "Oohh, Wow!" and Taylee kept saying "Love you" to all the lights she saw. It was pretty cute!! Mac going down the slide.

Flash Game and Christmas Party!

This weekend we got to go the Utah Flash game. We got floor seats and we were super close to all the action. It was so fun to sit so close. It's kind of funny what you see when you sit that close. McClain did so good, she loved it!! Thanks Mike and Amber. Then on Saturday we went to Steven's family annual Jex Christmas party. We have dinner and then Santa comes. We knew it could go either way with Santa, either she would love him or hate him. She hated him!! She started crying immediately after she sat on his lap and didn't stop until she was a safe distance away from him. But, she loved her present. It's a good thing she won't have to see him on Christmas Eve... Front row action!!

This year we had Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's house. It was the first time all the kids have been together for Thanksgiving since we all got married. It was kind of crazy with all the kids running around. McClain loves to play with her cousins. My brother and sister-in-law came up from St. George and we got to see their baby, Braylon, for the first time. He is so cute! He is perfectly round! McClain had fun, but she was grumpy from having no nap! Then when we got home we put the christmas tree up and got all of our christmas decorations out. We do that every year on Thanksgiving while watching Elf. On Friday night, we went to the light parade in Spanish Fork. McClain loved it, but it was freezing. We had fun! I love this time of year.

I know this will be the most current post on everybody's blog, but I couldn't help myself. I LOVED this movie!! It was seriously the best movie EVER. I am slightly obsessed. I for sure will be going again before it leaves theatres and for sure be purchasing the DVD. I can't wait for the next one. Guess I'll have to read the book again to keep me satisfied...

This last weekend I had the opportunity to see my Grandpa Dan and Joan. They live in Arizona and we only get to see them about once a year. They always stay at my parents house and we love to go visit when they come. In fact, this was McClain's first time meeting her great-grandpa. My camera was on the fritz though, and of all 5 pictures we took, this turned out to the best one. Terrible, I know. But, it was fun to see them. We love you guys! Also, I had to take this picture of Steven and McClain watching the Jazz game the other night. If she's not a daddy's girl...

Trick or Treat!!

Halloween was fun this year with McClain! She didn't really understand what was going on, but she had no problem with everyone giving her candy!! My mom and dad came over and saw her in her costume. Then, we took her around our neighborhood. After that we went to Grandma Kathy's and then to Grandma Myrl's. Grandma Myrl had sloppy joe's ready for dinner. Then we walked around her block to trick or treat. We did a really good job of not giving McClain too much candy. She didn't get wound up at all. We had fun, and we can't wait until next year when she may actually be able to say "Trick or Treat!"Our little bumblebee!

Halloween Fun!!

This weekend was so fun! We've had quite a time. On Friday night, we went to our friends Halloween party. McClain loved running around with everyone their, especially the kids. Then, Saturday afternoon, we took McClain to Trick or Treat on Main Street. Saturday night we had a birthday party at Aunt Leslie's house. We had yummy homemade soup and ice cream sundaes. We finished the night with a little rock band. I love that game. On Sunday night, we went to Grandma Kathy's and had our traditional pumpkin carving night. I love Halloween! I can't wait until next weekend, to take McClain trick or treating!

The other night Steven was lowering the mattress in McClain's crib. For whatever reason, she thought it was so entertaining. She stole the allen wrench from him and decided she would do it herself. She played like that for about 20 min. until we had to pry it out of her screaming hands! She would have kept busy for hours. Kids are funny!!McClain playing with the wrench.

Today we went to The Big Red Barn in Santaquin and took a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch. It was fun. McClain loved the tractor ride and loved the pumpkin patch even more. She had fun roaming around looking at the pumpkins. She even got to pick her own. We'll have fun carving the pumpkins we picked out. Thanks for the idea Amber!

Thriller!!

This weekend we went to Thriller. For those of you who have never seen it... I highly recommend it! We've gone almost every year for the past 8 years. They had a performance in Provo this year, so we decided to see what it was like down here. It was still fun, but we all agreed it doesn't have the "magic" that it has when you see it at Kingsbury Hall. We ate lunch at Applebee's first and then went to Thriller. It was a fun Girls Day Out. Harvest Moon Hurrah!

This year we went to the Harvest Moon Hurrah with some friends. There were lots of things that the girls couldn't do still, but what we did do was fun. We sat in line for 40 min. for the pony rides and McClain would ride, but Taylee didn't have so much luck (she hated the pony!). Then we went on the wagon ride and that was fun. They had music on the ride and McClain was just jamming out. We had fun though. I love this time of year!!

Birthday Fun!!

McClain had so much fun on her birthday. She started the day by sleeping in. Then we went to the zoo. It was perfect weather and the animals were fun to watch. Then we had a party for her at the park. We had cake and ice cream and McClain got so spoiled!! She got lots of clothes and toys. But, by the end of the day she was so tired!! It was a long day!

This weekend we went camping up Wanrhodes with my mom and dad. We had lots of fun! McClain loves to camp. On Saturday, we rode to Scofield to fish. This Thursday McClain turns one! It's exciting and sad all at the same time. It's been so fun to watch her learn to crawl, walk and talk. But, it goes by way too fast! She's such a ham. She keeps us entertained. I don't know what we ever did without her. We made a slideshow of some of our favorite pictures of her. There's more we liked, but that would take forever to watch. My brother Trevor and sister-in-law Kelly, added a new member of their family today. Braylon Trevor Peart. He was 5 lbs. 9oz. and 19 inches long. He is a cute little feller!! They live in St. George, so it I'm sure he be a little bigger before I get to see him, but I can't wait!! Congratulations to the new parents! We love you guys!

McClain started walking this week. She's been taking one or two steps here and there for the last couple of weeks. Then, on Thursday, she walked about half the length of our kitchen. On Saturday, the only way she would get around was to walk. Granted, it's still a little shaky and interrupted by falling a lot, but she gets back up and gets going again. And today, I chased her all around during church. I can't shake this feeling that this is only the beginning... McClain is pretty pleased with herself!

I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my sweet hubby!! Today he turns 28, (I know, he's old!) He is the greatest husband and daddy. He loves McClain so much, he loves nothing more that spending time with us. He does so much for me. I appreciate what a great man he is and I just wanted him to know how much I love him!

Camping Fun!

This weekend we went camping with some friends. It was fun, but it was SO hot on Saturday. We spent a lot of time playing in the stream by our camp. McClain had fun and she slept really good in the trailer. (That's a first!) We had really good food and great company. There is nothing better than sitting around a campfire, staying up all night talking. That's living!! Thanks for the good time guys! Let's do it again!!Shooting 22's.

The County Fair

This weekend we went to the county fair with The Robinson's. We had fun looking at the animals and riding the Merry-Go-Round. McClain loved the lambs, while Taylee hated them. McClain also loved to ride the Merry-Go-Round. My parents were there and bought the girls tickets to ride.(Thanks Mom!) They had fun riding the horses. And of course, we capped the night off with a trip to Sonic.

"Lightning" McClain

Last weekend McClain let us know just how much she likes lightning. She moves like lightning and she had this paper strewn all over the floor before we could even stop her. She thought she was pretty slick. Then, later that night there was a thunderstorm. Instead of being scared of the big noise and the bright flashes, she and Steven sat on the couch and watched the storm go through.

We went to the zoo today. McClain had fun. She loved the giraffes, the birds and the monkeys. Most of the animals were pretty lazy, it was really hot. But, she loved the littles ones that were always on the move. We are definitely taking her back when the weather gets cooler!

Fiesta Days!!

We had fun at Fiesta Days! We took McClain to the carnival and let her ride the Merry-Go-Round. She loved it! We took her 4 times! We went to the rodeo. She loved the rodeo and waved to all the horses as they went by. That was the best rodeo we've seen in a while. On the 24th, we went to the parade. She fell asleep half way through it, but I think she had fun. She also slept through the fireworks. What a party pooper!!

It's been a fun week. Fiesta Days is next week and we entered McClain in the baby contest. She didn't win, but we didn't need a contest to tell us that she's the cutest baby we know!! Also, it was Goshen's celebration this weekend. I took McClain to my mom's to watch the parade and play games at the church.

Summer Fun

Summer has been fun so far. We've kept busy going to the ballpark to play softball and camping. We took McClain to the Bees game and to Richfield camping. She loves the great outdoors! Here are some pics of what we've been up too... Mom, dad and McClain waiting for the fireworks
